Ozark National Forest - Boston Mountains

Borders Saber C - The Ozark National Forest covers 1.2 million acres, mostly in the Ozark mountains of northern Arkansas.

Devil's Den State Park

38 min from Saber C - The 2500 acre park, with an 8 acre CCC-built lake, is open year-round with trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Pea Ridge National Military Park

1 hr, 41 min from Saber C - The 4300 acre park is acknowledged as one of the best preserved Civil War battlefields. The park features a visitors center and museum, a driving tour, the restored battlefields, hiking trails, and the restored Elkhorn Tavern.

Buffalo River

2-3 hours from Saber C - The 153 mile river serves both advanced whitewater enthusiasts and novices alike. Multiple day trip and overnight camping options.

Natural Dam Falls

5 min from Saber C - The "dam" looks like a man-made structure, but it is a completely natural wall of rock that spans the width of Mountain Fork Creek.

Lake Ft. Smith State Park

48 min from Saber C - The 260 acre park boasts picnic sites, a pavilion, swimming pool, marina with boat rentals, boat launch ramp, playground, hiking trail, and a visitor center.

Beaver Lake

2 hours from Saber C - The 51 mile long lake boasts 483 miles of shoreline and supports all forms of water sports and world class fishing tournaments.

Blanchard Springs Caverns

3 hrs, 42 min from Saber C - One of the most spectacular and carefully developed caves found anywhere.  Visitors enter a "living" cave where glistening formations like stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and flowstones are still changing.
