In 2014, Saber C started as a couple of trails on 160 acres in the Ozark Mountains of NW Arkansas. Bordering the Ozark National Forest, the terrain is as varied as life itself -- high, low, flat, steep, rocky and wooded. One day it will offer lodging, a crafting shop, trap and skeet fields, repelling tower, hiking/bike trails, family fishing pond and a mountaintop setting for open air events like weddings, family reunions and business gatherings. All infrastructure and every activity is designed to support the unique needs of combat soldiers; particularly wounded warriors -- but not in an overt, clinically sterile way. When complete, families with and without disabilities should be able to equally enjoy the retreat.
Development proceeds as funds become available. Go to the Saber C facebook page to see what's been done so far … 'like' the page to stay up to date on retreat development.
We want to thank the many individuals, families and organizations whose support continue to make this dream a reality.
